something eating my fish

Several times this is all I get when I run my jugs.

I’m guessing a large logger head turtle is helping himself to my fish.

Jug Fishing

Without his good help,

he would not catch many fish.

circle hooks

I prefer circle hooks for catfish.

The Mustad 10/0 is a good heavy hook.

+++++++++

Well it was not strong enough

as a big fish straighten it

and kept going.

it happened again!

++++++++

In the same area as before,

one of my smaller jug channel cat has been mauled

by a larger catfish.

He better be careful

as I am looking for him to make one

small mistake.

pretty bird on Toledo Bend Lake

++++++

This Bald Eagle was preoccupied

and allowed me to get very close

before flying.

fishing can be dangerous

I hooked a large blue cat fish on my flagging jug

and brought him into the boat.

+++++

He flopped a couple of times

hitting my leg with one of his fins.

It went to the bone.

I cleaned the wound,

added large band-aid

and back to jug fishing.
