We locked the traps open for several days allowing the hogs

to enter and exit with no consequences.

The trap is activated.   It’s 9:42 am

Two hours later, we have big sow and couple pigs.

She is trying to find way out.

We’ve caught hogs that weighed over 250 pounds and

they could not escape.

Somehow, she squeezes between drop gate and

edge of trap.  The left side of the trap appears

bent out.

Two pigs remain in trap.

Later they escape.

We will drive “T” post along edge of trap

to prevent future escapes.

It they ever grow up, we will catch them

hogs-040616bIt’s 2:46 pm.   The trap door has been triggered and is closed.   Only one pig remains.  They escaped.

Once our traps are modified to capture small pigs, we should eliminate several pest.

It isn’t easy to trap feral pigs

They are back and I think it’s about over for them.

That’s it.  The trap door has slammed shut. They are captured.   No longer will they be rooting our hay meadows or eating out deer corn.   It’s over for them.

What’s this!   Where are my captured pigs?  The mesh size on the cattle panels is 6″ X 8″.   Somehow these pigs were able to escape by crawling through those small openings.  In less than fifteen minutes from the time they were captured, they all escaped.
